PERCEPTION SIERRA NEWS RELEASE The Sierra ~ Styling for 2000 Easley, SC: For over a decade, Perception has reigned the recreational category with winners such as the Keowee and Caspia kayaks. So… what could they possibly have up their sleeves for the 2000 lineup? Introducing the Sierra, a hybrid cross between the Keowee and the Caspia kayaks. Perception is calling it a hybrid because it is a little longer than the Keowee, has more upgraded features than the Caspia, and showcases Perception’s trademark commitment to quality in their kayak designs. "The Sierra has combined the best of what Perception is known for… innovation, quality, superior styling and outstanding performance," states Charlie Sagraves and Allen Stancil, Co-designers of the Sierra for Perception Kayaks. "With the Sierra, you have an outstanding kayak for the beginner and intermediate paddler. Also, advanced paddlers will be pleasantly surprised by its performance along with its outstanding comfort and versatility." The Sierra is very stable for beginners making it a great boat for all ages. The oversized cockpit allows for ease of entry and exit and its oversized seat ensures that the individual paddling experience is one that is relaxed and comfortable. With the increased size in the cockpit area, the Sierra comes with an optional kid’s seat that can be placed in front of the integrated main seat. "Charlie Sagraves and Allen Stancil have done a super job in designing an entry level kayak that will appeal to a broad range of paddlers," states Billy Turner, Vice President of Sales for Perception. "The Sierra has the comfort and stability you would expect in a small kayak along with speed and maneuverability for zipping around on the water." The Sierra will hit the paddling community in August 1999.
